What days can I schedule a surgery?
We do surgeries Monday through Thursdays
Can they have breakfast the morning of surgery?
No. We require that your pet does not have food after midnight the night before surgery. Keep water available the night before surgery and the morning of.
What happens the morning of surgery check in?
You will be checked in by a technician, they will acquire vital signs on your pet and verify information with you. Owners will have some paperwork to sign for anesthesia. If there are any questions for the doctor they can be addressed at that time.
What testing does my pet need prior to surgery?
Before any sedations or anesthetic procedures, we require pre-operative bloodwork. We require this for your pet to check organ function, blood cell counts, clotting factors and conditions that may not be detectable on a physical exam.
Laparoscopic spay
Dr. Erickson has been performing laparoscopic spays for many years. Your furry family members will be happy to hear there is a shorter recovery time and smaller surgical incision. Not all of our doctors are trained in using the laparoscopic spay equipment and not all pets are eligible for this procedure, please call today to find out if this is an appropriate option for your pet.
