Dentistry

Oral health is an important and often overlooked piece of your pets overall health. Pets can often show signs of dental disease with bad breath, unwillingness to play with toys or eat, or visible tartar and gingivitis. A pets mouth should be examined by your veterinarian at least once a year. At your yearly exam we will examine your pets overall health along with what is going on in their mouth! Pets with dental disease (tartar, calculus, gingivitis and gum recession) are at risk to root infections, loose teeth, heart disease and many other issues.

Mountain View Veterinary Clinic offers full anesthetic dental evaluations and cleanings. Once your pet is anesthetized, we will perform dental radiographs. This gives us a full picture of your pet’s mouth by allowing us to see below the gum line. Once full mouth radiographs are acquired a comprehensive oral exam is performed where every tooth is probed and evaluated. The doctor can then evaluate what your pet needs going forward with the cleaning. Our dentistry procedures include intravenous fluids for your pets safety, pain medications and antibiotics. Call or schedule an appointment for further information on dental cleanings.

We offer dental procedures Monday through Friday.
